Around this time last year, iD Tech had a lot to celebrate! Not only was it our 20th summer running tech camps for kids and teens, but we also received the "Top Workplace" award from the Bay Area News Group.
Well, we are beyond excited to announce that we were named a "Top Workplace" again this year, making it the 9th time we've received the award!
This achievement is a huge honor for many reasons, with the most important one being that such an accomplishment is solely based on feedback provided by our employees.
How it works: Each employee is sent an anonymous survey asking about their experience at iD Tech (initiated by Bay Area News Group). The questions typically cover diversity and inclusion, communication from executives, culture, etc., and employees are asked to give their thoughts on how iD Tech handles each topic.
For us, ensuring our employees are happy and contributing to something they are passionate about is a HUGE factor in the overall success of iD Tech. Our company thrives off culture and togetherness, and we continue to build on that every day.
This is why we participate in the "Top Workplace" survey every year—because it allows us to get real, candid feedback as to what’s working and what could use improving.
To add to this, our CEO, Pete Ingram-Cauchi, answered a few questions in regard to the "Top Workplace" award. Below, he describes what he believes separates iD Tech from other companies, and what makes it an incredible place to work.
B: "As CEO and son of co-founder, Kathryn Ingram, how does it make you feel knowing your employees have voted iD Tech a Top Workplace for 9 years?"
P: "It makes me feel great! Learning that your own people have placed you in high regard - in the highest regard - is very fulfilling. Our company is built on people and culture, and it is something I hope I never forget."
B: "What do you think iD Tech has done differently than other companies to ensure the happiness of its employees?"
P: “We are people-centric. We treat people the way we want to be treated. We understand the power of positive reinforcement, praise, and shaping long term behaviors. We are patient and loyal, and that builds patience and loyalty. We are also very open and honest with our people, through the good times, lean times, and boom years. People want the respect of being in the know. They appreciate it, and in turn they fight for us.
I am a very, very, lucky CEO and lucky person. I owe everything to our people.”
As Pete said, we are people-centric. We care for each other like family and that adds something special to our culture.
As we have spoken about many times before, culture is more than a word here. It’s the way in which we interact with each other, support each other, and win together.
