When is the party?
We’re counting down the hours until going live on Friday, October 30, 2020! The iD Halloween Block Party will be available throughout the weekend.
"We've created an awesome experience for kids with festive challenges they'll never forget," said Marissa Croniser, one of iD Tech's in-house Roblox Developers. "Players can virtually visit our "Trick-or-Treat Street" and collect in-game items in lieu of candy to build their scores, and even be featured on our leaderboard."
As a holiday, Halloween is known for being a social event, and iD Tech’s virtual trick-or-treating offers this an opportunity to do just that in a safe, socially distanced way. Kids can join their friends online to play and compete together.
RSVP’s are live now, and thousands (and counting!) have already signed up for the ultimate virtual Halloween experience.
What is it, exactly?

Why join?
For over 20 years, we have driven innovation in STEM education, and this latest development is no exception.
There is no question that COVID-19 has thrown a number of curveballs into the education sphere. Not only that, remote schooling and hybrid schedules have changed the way kids socialize and experience daily life.
In many cases, Zoom fatigue and online learning burnout have made this fall a particularly challenging one. More than ever, kids need well-designed, engaging resources to connect.
The pandemic has also created numerous challenges for parents; on top of working from home, many are faced with completely reorganizing family life and daily routines. In these challenging times, parents need extra support in ensuring their kids’ developmental and social needs are met.
This is exactly what motivated us to create something unique and fill the need for normal - plus the need for fun - even in unprecedented times. If anything, we could all use a little fun even more than usual right about now.
"After my wife and I observed a lively online discussion about whether or not kids should trick-or-treat this year, we knew this Halloween was going to be a bummer for our kids. At work we rallied the iD Tech team and took it as our charge to save Halloween for our students. Roblox was the perfect home to connect with our community, offering an entire virtual world for students to explore in the spirit of Halloween," said Ricky Bennett, iD Tech's VP of Innovation and Partnerships. "Our hope is that our event will spark curiosity in STEM, specifically Roblox, which we use to introduce students to coding and game development."
Roblox is a perfect place for kids to enjoy fun games and connect with friends. But that’s just the beginning of its potential.
As a platform, Roblox attracts millions of daily users not only to play games, but also to design and create them. It’s no wonder that even young Roblox players have become successful entrepreneurs by using the platform.

As a company, iD Tech believes that platforms like Roblox, paired with educational tools, can spark a life-changing interest in STEM—there is no telling where kids’ journeys through tech might lead.
